Born 1957 in Ninjé, he studied philosophy and sociology before venturing into filmmaking as assistant director between 1982 and 1986. His long narrative debut Sango Malo was selected in Cannes 1991. Among his following credits: The documentary Central African Forrest (2002), Silence of the Forrest (Selected in Cannes 2003) and Fastlife (2013). Since 2009, Emile holds the position of Director General of Ecrans Noirs Festival in Cameroon.
